Toyota has released additional photos of the 2014 Harrier which is essentially a Lexus RX with a modified body.
Set
to be sold exclusively in Japan, the 2014 Harrier adopts a
significantly modified front fascia compared to the RX, packing a pair
of appealing darkened headlamps, an Avalon-like large air intake as well
as what appears to be a glossy transparent plastic grille. At the back
there are stylish slender taillights and a roof-mounted spoiler.
Official details about what powers the Harrier
are not known at this moment but we will find out in the near future as
the car will allegedly reach dealerships this winter. Since the
attached photos show the "Hybrid Synergy Drive" badging, Toyota plans on
offering the Harrier at least in an eco-friendly variant which could
include V6 3.5-liter engine from the RX 450h working with two electric
motors and a Ni-MH battery to provide a combined output of 295 bhp (220
kW). The Lexus version needs 7.8 seconds to complete the 0-62 mph (0-100
km/h) run and will do a top speed of 124 mph (200 km/h).
